We are back with a quick post about what Prince George wore for a playdate with his mum some months ago, when the two spent time at a public park near their Anmer Hall country home. Australia’s New Idea magazine has the photos in its April 20 issue.
The pictures are from the winter, and they show the Duchess and Prince having what looks like a delightful time at Snettisham Park, a working farm that also has oodles of fun activities and attractions, including a petting zoo. There are unconfirmed reports the photos were taken with Kate’s permission; that the person selling them to the Australian magazine donated the money to charity. I really don’t know if that is the case or not.
We’re not publishing the pictures here on the blog. If interested in looking at them, this link takes you to Lulu’s Facebook page, with scans of the images.
George appears to have been in a Columbia snowsuit, the brand’s Snuggly Bunny Bunting in “collegiate navy,” originally selling in the US at $95. The piece is down filled, with a wind- and water-repellant outer layer and fleece-lined interior. There is a full-length diagonal zipper for ease in getting the garment on and off, there are also fold-over hands and feet. It is sold out at most retailers, but we found it significantly discounted ($38) at flash sale site Gilt.com.
The piece is 100% cotton on the outside, lined with a snuggly warm fleece material. It retails at Jojo Maman Bébé for £12, and is also available at Amazon from various vendors, including JoJo Maman Bébé, where it is priced at $24. The piece is also offered in pink and ivory.
Our thanks to the lovely ladies at Prince George Pieces who located the snowsuit and hat!
George was in a pair of Aigle boots, a new brand for us. The word actually means “eagle,” it is pronounced “eh-gleu.” The boots are made by hand at Ingrandes, France near Chatellerault. Not dissimilar from the boots worn by George’s mother, Le Chameau; they are also made in France.
George’s model is Aigle’s unisex Child Baby Flac for Infants/Toddlers. The boots are rubber, not PVC as many are these days, and lined in cotton. They are offered by Aigle on Amazon for $59. The boots are also carried at Diapers.com in the US (at $59), at John Lewis in the UK (£25) and at Smallable (€ 16.83, about $18). They come in a variety of colors and even some patterns, the motif isn’t limited to just navy blue.
Our thanks to World of Windsor on Twitter for the ID on the George’s boots.
Aigle is a heritage brand worth knowing. The company has been around since 1853, started by American émigré. Aigle is credited with actually inventing and making the first rubber boot. The company also offers a broad mix of apparel and accessories. Below, some of the s/s 2015 children’s styles at Aigle.
As it turns out, the company also offers an almost-identical style of boots for adults, we show them at Amazon ($125). Among the celebrities seen wearing the brand: Alexa Chung, Courtney Cox, Natalie Portman, and Liv Tyler.
A few more styles from the spring/summer lookbook.
Many may have recognized a Liberty print shirt, above right. Below we share several other pieces from Aigle. None overly exciting, no party frocks or sequins, just basics that can go a long way in a wardrobe. From left to right: a classic chambray shirt in blue cotton, a women’s parka, and an oversized boyfriend sweater.
We’re just tickled you stopped by, it has been a little while (cough-cough) since we posted. Some of our time and energy has been going into a new site that will cover everything worn by both Cambridge kids! Thank you for being so patient!
